Meet Dr. Adriana Rocha Garcia, who serves as President of the SAHT Board!
She serves as a San Antonio city council member for District 4, and has a passion for working with organizations that help San Antonio’s most underrepresented demographics. Raised in a Spanish-speaking household to parents with a first and second-grade Mexican education, she became the first in her family to earn a college degree. Later on, she became one of the first Hispanics to earn a Ph.D. in Advertising from UT’s prestigious Moody College of Communication.
Today, Dr. Garcia is molding tomorrow’s leaders as an Assistant Marketing Professor at Our Lady of the Lake University, where she teaches marketing in the School of Business and Leadership. She also currently serves as Chair of the Finance Council at Divine Providence Catholic Church and as a board member of Chef Johnny Hernandez’s Culinary Arts Foundation, Kitchen Campus.
Garcia’s numerous awards include San Antonio Business Journal’s 40 Under 40, Women of Excellence Award from the National Foundation of Women Legislators, Recipient of the 1895 Commencement Award for Faculty Excellence from Our Lady of the Lake University.
